Muriel Bednarczyk joined the IPE team as a consultant in March 2025. From her studies in economics at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf, she brings with her a sound knowledge of applied microeconomics, competition economics and econometrics. During a stay abroad in Italy at the University of Florence, she also focussed intensively on quantitative methods of policy evaluation. In her master's thesis, she estimated the causal effect of the Ahr valley flood 2021 on individual risk perception of climate change based on behavioural economic theory.
During her academic career, Muriel has already gained valuable experience, including as a Research and Evaluation Intern at the United Nations in Geneva, where she was involved in data analyses and evaluation reports. She also worked as a research assistant at the Düsseldorf Institute for Competition Economics (DICE) during her studies and brings practical experience in economic consulting in addition to her analytical expertise.
