Dieter Hess

Prof. Dr. Dieter Hess studied business administration at the University of Augsburg. He then completed his doctorate in finance at the University of Konstanz, where he also habilitated. After research and teaching assignments at the Stern School of Business of New York University and the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, he moved to the University of Cologne. There he has held the Chair of Corporate Finance since 2004 and mainly offers application-oriented, empirical courses.

His research interests lie in particular in the valuation of companies, profit forecasting and insolvency forecasting. He also conducts research on interest rate structure models, information processing in financial markets and risk forecasting. The results of his work have been published in particular in the Review of Finance, Journal of Empirical Finance, Journal of Banking and Finance and Journal of Future Markets.
